how canada handles those arctic monkeys

The marvellous types over at Much Music in Canada conducted a very brave and extremely interesting sociological experiment while at the Virgin Festival in Toronto this year - they dared to interview the famously acerbic Arctic Monkeys. Now I love ‘em I do, but I’d definitely have to have my sharpened wits about me if I thought I could jolly on up to them and enage in a bit of mutually-appreciated lighthearted banter. I guess it’s kind of like trying to avoid those dodgy hoodie type kids on street corners, although rather than avoiding knives and guns - an encounter with those sharp Sheffield kids might result in being dealt with some potentially fatal tongue-lashings of the droll, ironic Northern kind. I don’t care if they’re all about 18 and are fresh out of school, those laconic lyrical geniuses could probably outwit and intimidate an uber-wit of Stephen Fry proportions. So what topics are proposed by VJ Hannah Simone to engage the lads with? Erm, tea (hey they’re British of course!) and… yes: ‘who do you wish wasn’t a virgin?’ See what she did there!? Go to my MySpace page, be my friend (oh go on, please) and run VT… Much Music I salute you.
