Thanks everyone for voting for me for the VPass Global Comp (worst grammar ever).
Pleased to say that I bloody won, goddamit, and yes I’m off on a frisky jaunt, courtesy of Virgin, to cover in audio visual fashion the shennanigans going on at all the V Festivals Worldwide in 2009.

Keep posted, add me as a mate on myspace.com/elleuk

Okay, so I have no YouTube access here in mainland China which has made sharing the latest installment of my world tour all that more difficult… But with V Festival Australia goodness to come, take a sneak peek at the rest of my Global V Pass adventures so far…

With only a few days until the Australian V Festival kicks off, and with me, Eleanor Conway, your trusty Global VPass winner already en route, thought it might be time to whet your appetite with my first tour diary. London to Hong Kong to Sydney… all in a day’s work!

Keep in the loop, subscribe www.youtube.com/elleonline

Also don’t forget to check out Eleanor Conway Presents: Elbow and Flo Rida.

Elbow are set for a summer of love in 2009, music.virgin.com’s Eleanor Conway will be hot on their heels in true stalker fashion as they prepare for V Festival Sydney sunshine, ahead of their UK dates (including V Festival of course!). On the eve of the hotly commended Wembley Arena gig last week, Eleanor Conway gets down and dirty with the boys from Elbow in this exclusive video interview…

20 years on from Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince picking up the first Hip Hop Grammy for Parents Don’t Understand, hip hop has taken ownership of the charts and the mainstream. With nearly half a million digital downloads (in the first week) of his first single, Low, followed swiftly with over 600,000 (also in the first week of release) of his second single, Right Round, it seems fitting that global mega star Flo Rida should sit down with Eleanor, in this episode of Eleanor Conway Presents: Flo Rida.

With his new single Weight Of The World out now, the nicest guy in music, Lemar, chats to Eleanor Conway about oat cake chairs, hanging with Timbaland and who he rates as onee to watch in the UK music scene.

music.virgin.com has finally gone pop! Self confessed indie boy Bob ’skinny jeans’ Fear and urban wannabee Eleanor ‘OG’ Conway hit up pop starlets and general hotties The Saturdays upon the release of their Comic Relief inspired cover of Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough. They even treated us to an exclusive impromptu a cappella performance of the new single…

The Saturdays have now been confirmed as playing this year’s UK V Festivals in Chelmsford and Stafford in August - following in the dainty high-heeled footsteps of Girls Aloud last year. We asked them who they would most like to camp with at V Festival so watch the video interview to find out who picked who out of these chosen plus-ones: Michael Jackson, any of Kings Of Leon, fat Elvis, thin Elvis

The girls have also just announced their first headline tour (tickets available via gigsandtours.com) and their debut album Chasing Lights has gone platinum. We just can’t get enough of The Saturdays right now. Can you?

If someone was going to play Alain Clark in a movie of his life, it would undoubtedly be Sean Connery ala 007.  A massive hit in his home country of the Netherlands, Alain Clark has remained in the charts for 52 weeks and is about to bring it to the UK.

I went on over to Amsterdam to have a chat with the man himself, watch him perform (with his Dad!) and to be treated to an exclusive solo acoustic performance of I Fell In Love - all in this Dutch special of Eleanor Conway Presents.

WARNING: Severe hotness ensues.

Getting her cherry taken by a virgin is no mean feat for the people’s intrepid music reporter and winner of Virgin’s Global VPass competition - Eleanor Conway.  Talking to the ‘Band to Watch 2009′ - The Virgins, The Ellenoid hits the Notting Hill Arts Club in order to cater to said precocious rock starlets’ yearning to learn of who their ‘Fan to Watch 2009′ should be.  Criteria? No tasers. And the ability to be silent. Quality.

Wonder if Peaches Geldof fits the bill? Some newspapers are reporting that she is apparently ‘besotted’ with Virgins frontman Donald Cumming after splitting with husband Max Drummey from Chester French

2008 has been a crazy year and has seen the conclusion of two world defying political campaigns. First we had Obama vying for the best seat in the world, and second we had Eleanor Conway on her campaign to become Virgin’s global reporter in 2009. While Barack started his campaign by going door to door through the United States of America, Eleanor took to the streets and fields of the UK to tout for your votes. Features Justice, Sam Sparro, The Presets, Glasvegas, Elbow.

Post-punk revivalists? More like post-punk barber quartet with a hint of anarchy - winning legions of new fans with their third album This Is Not The World, The Futureheads have joined Eleanor in the cultural mecca of East Anglia - Norwich.

Join Elle and the boys as they put the world to rights round the metaphorical campfire of life. Also featuring live acoustic renditions of Beginning Of The Twist and I Wouldn’t Feel Like This If You Were Here.

Blood, breasts and boundless screaming. Not a crazy goth horror porn but in fact the latest DVD offering from the most famous French facial hair wearers in pop music culture - Justice.  With Romain Gavras (the guy behind the controversial Stress video) at the helm of this tour doc slash live CD- DVD combo, ‘A Cross The Universe’ should be a mainstay of any breathing music lovers collection.’Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’…? Thank Gaspard for that!!!!! Fresh from the maddest American tour ever, Justice indoctrinate Eleanor into their fluffer cult, we find out why Gaspard can never go to Las Vegas again and also unearth a must see spicy secret in this episode of:

Eleanor Conway Presents: A Little Justice - in association with music.virgin.com

WARNING: lots of extremely inappropriate nudity, swearing and general rock ‘n roll behaviour ensues.

Part time punk shocker, part time folk rocker, Adam Ficek has got the best of both worlds living it up through tabloid heavy Babyshambles, he is now embarking on calmer waters with the release of his debut solo project ‘Roses Kings Castles’. We were lucky enough to have Adam in the Virgin offices where he dished the dirt on the Babyshambles, gave his ultimate theory on popcorn and played a little acoustic version of his latest single ‘Horses’. Eleanor Conway Presents: Manu Chao - the most successful musician that you’ve probably never heard of.

His album Clandestino was a massive hit in Latin America and Europe and if you’ve ever been to backpacker haven Thailand, Manu’s Sounds of the Bongo can be heard resonating from hammocks from Haad Rin to Haad Tien.

Famous for commandeering a train and a boat as the centre of his circus inspired tours with earlier musical outfit Manu Negra his approach to performance and his career is anything but textbook.

In town promoting his Maradona inspired single ‘La Vida Tombola’ from recent album ‘La Radiolina’, he chats to Eleanor Conway of music.virgin.com about Britney, his music and his ‘commercial suicide’ gone right.

Knife fights, street crime and single parent families… it sounds like the backdrop of a quintessential Panorama special as opposed to your NME touting, Alan McGee championing supergroup, also known as Glasvegas. They’ve had a fruitful summer, selling 56, 000 copies of their debut album ‘Glasvegas’ in it’s first week of release and winging their way into the hearts of the nation. In association with music.virgin.com Eleanor Conway Presents: Glasvegas - in a rare insight into the band, the album and how to clean those grubby doors of perception.

Features videos ‘Daddy’s Gone’, ‘Geraldine’, ‘Please Come Back Home’ (and also a wee bit of strong language).

Having won the MTV VMA for best Portuguese act following the release of their second album Black Diamond, Buraka Som Sistema are on the prowl in bringing credible urban world music to the masses. They’ve identified collaborators MIA, Diplo and Switch, Kano and Hot Chip as the metaphorical musical magpies that they are, and they join me on the first Eleanor Conway Presents: Podcast in association with music.virgin.com to share their musical inspirations behind their sound- the sound of Kuduro.

November 14th, 2008

Amongst freshly cut grass, children playing in the snow and the late October appearance of Christmas decorations in my local supermarket here is a list of discernibly nice things that are nice to like ( in no particular order):

Cage The Elephant — My new favourite band. I shall not bore you with blurb, but the boys met via a hippy commune in the deep south of America, stole the show on Never Mind the Buzzcocks a couple weeks back and rocked the chapel at the first gig of the Mencap Little Noise Sessions this week- Think jumping on pews and causing a right ‘ol ruckass. Great gig featuring White Lies, The Killers and Glasvegas — Eleanor Conway Presents: Glasvegas interview — to come shortly.

Stricken City — spangling, jangling pop — perfect for the Crimbo season. You should go see them just on the strength of Rebekah Raa’s (singer) name alone. Quality.

Ladyhawke — She’s a lady, but no hawk—She’s doing wicked things since speaking with us a month ago (check out the interview here) and her new video for Delirium is unleashed on the general public on the 8th of Dec….

Say aha - perhaps in a Alan Partridge or a Morton Harket kind of way but preferably in a Santogold’s latest-single-kind-of way… ‘Aha’ by Santogold. Released soon. The 24th of November to be exact.

Don’t forget to join the Eleanor Conway Presents: facebook page here for your chance to win a signed copy of Goldfrapp’s album ‘Seventh Tree’

And don’t forget to vote for Eleanor Conway to win the the Global VPass competition, closing ends end of November and you could win tickets to your local V Festival as well as a warm fuzzy feeling……… Click here to vote.
