Virgin Mobile USA today announced that Virgin Mobile FreeFest tickets have been scooped up. But music fans need not worry, because people across the East Coast will have the chance to volunteer through The Re*Generation Free I.P. program in order to receive a VIP ticket to the hottest free festival of the summer. The Virgin Mobile FreeFest will take place August 30th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. Artists include Weezer, Blink 182, and Public Enemy…

Metric, The Roots, Broken Social Scene, Carly Rae Jepsen, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes and Chris Velan have been added to the lineup for the Virgin Festival to be held at Deer Lake Park, BC, Canada on July 25 & 26. They join Sonic Youth, Ben Harper & Relentless7, Our Lady Peace, Mutemath, Spinnerette, Jarvis Cocker, De La Soul and K-OS on the bill…

Speculation and predictions that have filled blogs and discussion boards can be put to rest. The Virgin Mobile USA Festival is returning, but with a catch. Admission will be free. Those scheduled to appear at this year’s FreeFest include Weezer, Blink-182, Franz Ferdinand, Public Enemy, Jet, The National, Girl Talk, The Bravery, The Hold Steady, St. Vincent, Wale, and Taking Back Sunday, as well as dance tent favorites that include HOLY F*CK, Pete Tong, Danny Howells and Lee Burridge…

The competition to win a pair of tickets to The Great Escape festival in Brighton ends 4th May (Monday).

The last remaining tickets for Weston Park, Staffordshire are expected to be snapped up today via www.vfestival.com so don’t miss out and be fast to grab yours now. Calvin Harris and 2 Many DJs join the bill currently headed by Oasis and The Killers. Also added are Jet, Athlete, Human League, Starsailor, Lemar, Will Young, Noisettes, The Proclaimers, Natalie Imbruglia, Red Light Company, Mr Hudson, The King Blues, Tinchy Stryder, Daniel Merriweather and Matt Tracker - who won last year’s Road To V contest.

We’re reaching that great time of year; the sun is properly out for the first time in months, the coats, scarves, gloves and hats are being left at home and we are facing a whole summer full of good times, festivals and (hopefully) great weather!
One of the nicest places to spend a sunny evening in London is Somerset house, which last year played host to Justice, We Are Scientists, Duffy and Adele during their Summer Series. This year, Somerset House have so far confirmed Grace Jones, Lily Allen, The Ting Tings, Pendulum and Athlete. The other headliners will be announced on 29th April for the event which runs from 9th – 18th July.

One of the world’s best loved and well known, if not muddy, festivals sold out this morning, as music lovers snapped up the last few remaining tickets. Final sales started at 9am, enabled those who had registered in the intial stages with photographic information to deter to touts, to get their musical mitts on the gold dust tickets. Acts officially confirmed by www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk include Lily Allen, Fleet Foxes, Neil Young, Blur, Bruce Springsteen, Doves and White Lies to name a few. It is anticipated that the remaining headline acts will be announced in the next few weeks.

Radiohead and Kings Of Leon join Arctic Monkeys as headliners of Reading and Leeds Festival 2009. Prodigy, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party all get second billing across the three days from Friady 28 to Sunday 30 August. Other bands added to the lineup include Placebo, Maximo Park, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Fall Out Boy, Vampire Weekend, Ian Brown, Funeral For A Friend, Gossip, Glasvegas, White Lies, Florence & The Machine, Friendly Fires and Gallows. Self confessed indie boy Bob ’skinny jeans’ Fear and urban wannabee Eleanor ‘OG’ Conway hit up pop starlets and general hotties The Saturdays upon the release of their Comic Relief inspired cover of Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough (they even treated us to an exclusive impromptu a cappella performance of the new single). The Saturdays have now been confirmed as playing this year’s UK V Festivals in Chelmsford and Stafford in August - following in the dainty high-heeled footsteps of Girls Aloud last year. V Festival has once again almost completely sold out across both sites only hours after tickets went on sale. Tickets to Hylands Park, Chelmsford sold out in under two hours and only coach packages now remain. The last remaining tickets to Weston Park, Staffordshire are going fast from www.vfestival.com. Oasis and The Killers are set to headline Virgin Media’s V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on 22 & 23 August. Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow, Pendulum, The Tings Tings, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga will also be playing at what will be the V Festival’s fourteenth year. The Virgin Mobile Union stage sees lyrical genius Peter Doherty take to the stage and will be joined by a load of other acts to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday. Don’t miss your chance to see rock royalty in Sydney this week when Alice In Chains take to the Enmore Theatre stage on Wednesday 25th Feburary. After a long hiatus, the members of Alice In Chains have decided to honour their musical legacy by taking their beloved songs to the road. Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez and Sean Kinney will be joined by William Duvall on lead vocals who fills the void left after the tragic 2002 death of the legendary Layne Staley. This year the band are thrilled to be reunited and returning to the music they created and the legacy that is Alice In Chains.

Britain’s answer to SXSW, The Great Escape festival, has been taking over sunny Brighton every May for the last few years to great success, bringing a veritable feast of brand new music to the attention of fans and industry alike. This year’s festival will run over the 14th, 15th and 16th May at dozens of venues around the British riviera and will feature performances from a whopping 300 bands, including Passion Pit, Metronomy, Ben Kweller and many, many more…

The Kills, M83, Howling Bells, Jenny Lewis, Jackson Jackson, Wolf & Cub and Children Collide join The Killers, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow and Duffy on next month’s V Festival Australia lineup. Legendary 80s heroes Madness and Human League have also been added to the bill - fitting in to that classic retro groove so nobly filled by Duran Duran last year and Pet Shop Boys the year before. The presence of The Kills’ Jamie Hince will alert Aussies to the possibilities of one Kate Moss making an appearance down under…
